A nationally-accredited course designed to assist workers supporting people living with dementia.
Strategies are explored to assist with good communication, planning and developing appropriate activities and understanding behaviours in people living with dementia.
Cost is Fully funded.
Available at various locations or at your workplace.
3 Day Program Topics Include:
- person centred care
- the nature of dementia
- effective communication
- impact of dementia
- activities for living and pleasure
- understanding changed behaviours and developing effective responses
The completed competency can be credited towards further study in aged care.
Participation at all three sessions is essential.
You MUST be able to undertake a workplace assessment under supervision, interacting with people living with dementia.
Assessment can be modified for people with varying levels of English literacy.
